Problem Identification

At Reese College the practice of discriminatory tendencies on the part of the Campus Director was delivered to light through conversation amongst college personnel. As in most organizations, co-workers engaged in informal conversation that included sharing day-to-day work frustrations. As time passes, however , these types of co-workers started to notice a rise in their degree of frustration as well as the number and severity of complaints most involving the Grounds Director, at which point several of the employees organized the time and effort to file an official complaint while using college.

This case is negatively affecting the faculty in several ways. The most immediate matter is determining whether or not there are in fact violations of Subject VII in the Civil Privileges Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Take action (ADA), as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) occurring. All those acts obviously state that it is " illegal to discriminate in any aspect of employment" (http://www.eeoc.gov), so making sure that all school employees happen to be acting in compliance with federal standards is the 1st priority. Aside from the potential legal ramifications carried by this problem, all of us also must deal with the consequences on the staff and their work place. Female workers who believe that there is no true opportunity for advancement within the organization may decide to supply less work or develop work of the much lower top quality than regarding which they have the capability, and man employees who are absent from help long periods of time might be leaving essential tasks undone. Productivity challenges and lost resources are both tremendous issues. Is this issue one that could be solved? We believe that it can.
